I am good and healthy, why would I need to make a Will, you questioned. Several reasons. Without a will, your property/assets may fall into the hands of those who you do not wish to be e.g. your spouse if you are in the midst of a divorce. What about children? If both parents die with a will or the proper appointment of a guardian, the children can be taken into the care of the Social Welfare Department. Worst still, if you are in business, can you imagine what it will do if you suddenly die when you are the key person who manages the finance of the company? What’s more, if there should be any transfer of property, it will attract stamp duty. Is it reasons enough for you to make a will?
